The Ministry of Antiquities started the development project of the archaeological site of Dendera Temple in Qena in order to transfer the area around it into an open-air museum.
Dr. Mostafa Waziri General Secretary of the Supreme Council of Antiquities explains that this project was carried out in cooperation with the French archaeological mission working on the site, and the Ministry of Antiquities has completed the first phase of the project which include the fabrication and installation of 9 stone mounts on the left side of the main entrance gate of the temple on which the archaeological objects will be exhibited. The objects include statues of God Bes and goddess Hathor, along with other stone reliefs, engravings and stelae..
Abdel Hakem Al-Sageer head of the antiquities department in Dendera said that some of the artifacts that will be put on display were discovered during perivious excavations and left on the ground on the site while the rest was stored in the Mamizi storehouse of the temple.
